Looking at the beautiful blue sky today on my morning walk made me incredibly happy. I felt like things were just perfect in this moment. Wouldn’t it be great if we could bottle up these types of happy moments in our life and carry them with us through the day?
Maybe we can – with some practice! Having a daily activity to give us this happy feeling is a great place to start. For me, it’s going on a daily morning walk with my doggie Rafa. Being outside and seeing the sky and trees always lifts me up. It may be something completely different for you – maybe your daily happiness practice involves singing, sipping tea, swimming, drawing, or riding a bike.
Then, during the day, I have a reminder next to my computer so I can choose to stay in a positive mindset. My reminder is a picture of a Buddhist monk and I have written words all around him “Joy, Peace, Love, Hope, Serenity, Humility, Kindness, Benevolence, Generosity, Empathy, Compassion, Truth, Faith. “ Your reminder could be a photo, a note, a stone, shell, or bracelet. Maybe you have a different set of words that speak to you or a quote that touches you.
