Appreciate What You Already Have

This is why the practice of gratitude is such a powerful one. It is really a practice of giving thanks for everything we are receiving already.

Too often we focus on what we don’t have. It’s only human, due to our negativity bias (you can read more here). Yet all it takes is practicing the opposite and remembering to be thankful for all the beautiful and wonderful moments in our lives every day (drinking a warm cup of tea or coffee, seeing the sun shining through the clouds, petting a puppy/kitty/bunny/…, reading a funny story someone forwarded, having clean water, hearing your favorite song, tasting a yummy meal, getting a nice compliment, observing a butterfly…the list goes on…)
